A Christmas Carol DSi Game

WIth Christmas around the corner there has to be at least one big DSi games release, and Disney have provided it with one of the best DSi games for interactive gameplay that I have seen to date.  Disney's A Christmas Carol DS provides a huge amount of fun and interactive gameplay for a truly entertaining Nintendo DS Christmas.

When I first started playing A Christmas Carol DS I assumed it was going to follow in the path of a thousand other film based adventure games.  Simple, easier because you know the story, and all in all a little bland.  With A Christmas Carol DS I got a very pleasant surprise.  Unlike many adventrue DSi Games I found myself manipulating Scrooge's world by blowing in to teh microphone, shaking the world, and interacting with many of the characters made famous by the book turned film with a hundred remakes.

While A Christmas Carol DS is a little bit more challenging, it still does not quite match up to some of the best mystery DSi games such as Professor Layton and the Unwound Future.  It still holds it's own pretty well though, and can provide a huge amount of entertainment (and humor) for the kids.

And a Children's DSi game really is where Disney's A Christmas Carol DS really does excel. It has been meticulously crafted to entertian the young ones, and while grownups might enjoy strolling through a story they grew up with, and don't get me wrong, you will face a few tough challenges, it will more than likely be an easy walk. 

If you are looking to buy the best DSi game for your kids this coming Christmas then I have no qualms at all in suggesting this amazing DSi game as one of the Best Christmas Presents of 2010!

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future is chronologically the last, but not the last game, in the Professor Layton DSi games series. In Professor Layton and the Unwound Future Professor Layton and the young Luke travel down to London to see a Time Machine mentioned in a letter written by a future version of Luke.

This brilliant mystery DSi game is a fairly challenging edition to the Professor Layton DSi games series and has a truly immense story line filled with deception, intrigue, and a mystery that needs to be solved which might simply be so intense that the very minds of the characters must strugle to understand the concepts thrust upon them.

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future is by far my most favorite of the Professor Layton series. It's ingenious storyline combined with well made characters, addictive mini games and unbeatable gameplay turn this simple mystery series in to a mind boggling chain of events, love, and power.

If you are looking at the best DSi games for a christmas present this year, then this amazing mystery DSi game is by far one of the best that you could choose!

Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure DSi Game

Henery Hasworth in the Puzzling adventure is quite simply one of the best DSi games I have played in years. It's unique mix of puzzle games and 2D platfrom shooting adventure create a surprisingly fun and addictive DSi game which constantly leaves you wanting more.

In Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure you will find yourself traversing 5 worlds over 30 levels, Searching for treasure and collecting gemswhich you can use to upgrade your weapons, and replenish your health.

As you fight your way through the challenging levels you will find yourself completing massive puzzle combos to help you reach the ingenious end of level bosses.  Defeating these takes a decent level of skill which you do not find in most 2D action games, where the usual strategy is dodge, then shoot.

This amazing DSi game helps meld both puzzle solving games such as tetris, and the 2D action genre to give you a surprisingly easy to pick up adventure game. It took me all of a minute to be immersed in this DSi games beautifully made action and puzzle combination. But, it did take me much longer to become skilled enough to complete the well designed levels in this DSi game with ease!

All in all I think Henery Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure is an essential DSi game to buy, and it is by far one of the best DSi games that I have played in a long time!

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands DS - DSi Game

Out of all the Nintendo DS action games ever made, the Prince of Persia DSi Games have long been a favourite of mine.

In the Prince of Persia the Forgotten Sands you journey across an exotic wild land filled with adventure and mystery on your Nintendo DSi.

With the latest installment of the Prince of Persia the Forgotton Sands you have more offensive techniques, deadlier enemies, and puzzles galore to keep you entertained in this amazing DSi game.

This is probably the most fun you will have in an action DSi game in 2010. With fast paced entertainment, exotic landscapes, and a fantastic continuation to the Prinse of Persia Sands of time series on the Nintendo DSi.

This great game is now available on the Nintendo DS and DSi, and guarantees you hours of fun as you play this new Nintendo DSi game!

Rooms DS - Hot New DSi Game

Rooms DS is a fantastically well made DSi game which takes you through the Rooms Mansion. The Rooms DSi game is in essence a Sliding Puzzle game, it does not take you long however to realise that this stunning DSi games is much more than mere sliding puzzles.

Along with sliding the tiles around the room, you will also find yourself using everything from teleporters to explosives as you complete some fiendish puzzles to complete this challenging DSi game.

Rooms DS is a pretty complex DSi game, and with over 100 challenges to complete, it may be some time before you complete this fantastic DSi game.

When you first start playing the puzzles are fairly easy, it is not long however until the range of items in this challenging DSi game become a little overwhelming.  Fortunately Rooms DS comes with a helpful 'Mr Book' who will help you learn how to use the basic controls, and some of the items you encounter along your mysterious journey.

Iron Man 2 DS Game

Iron Man 2 is a brand new DSi Game which brings all the action of the hit Iron Man 2 game to the Nintendo DSi.

Iron Man 2 DS brings a huge amount of action packed in to a little package, and follows the Iron Man 2 story line as you play this brilliant DSi game. 

What this game lacks in originality is more than made up by a rather ingenius gameplay, as you fly your character around, Iron Man 2 is more about dextrously avoiding missiles as it is using the right weapon at hte right time to beat the endless attackers, and immense bosses which you will have to face.

Iron man 2 DSi is a great 2D platform shooter that brings a lot of fantastic shoot-em-up style gaming to the nintendo DSi in one of the latest DSi Games to be released this year.

Pokemon Soul Silver & Pokemon Heart Gold

The Pokemon brand of Nintendo games has been around for around a decade now, and they are still going strong with Pokemon Soul Silver and Pokemon Heart Gold. These two amazing DSi games continue in true Pokemon style, requiring you to traverse a world filled with imaginative monsters and incompetent henchmen.

As with the previous Pokemon games Pokemon Soul Silver and Pokemon Heart Gold are two DSi games which share nearly everything in common, save a few of the most special of monsters.

When you start off playing one of these great Pokemon DSi games you will undoubtedly be aiming to get the best monsters to defeat your enemies. It will not however take very long for you to start following up on this DSi games famous catch phrase - Gotta Catch Them All.

Collecting all the worlds Pokemon is the ultimate goal of this DSi game, and it is not always easy, with some Pokemon only evolving under some really strange conditions in both Pokemon Soul Silver and Pokemon Heart Red!

I have to admit that the Pokemon series has probably got me more 'bang for my buck' than any other DSi game I have ever played, or DS game, come to think about it I first played Pokemon on my Original Gameboy.  The fact that the Pokemon series survived to become a DSi game gives real testament to both the replayability and the enjoyment factor of this amazing set of DSi games!

Rhythm Heaven

Rhythm Heaven brings addictive gameplay and amazing fun to your handheld console in one of the best DSi games to ever hit the Nintendo DSi. The gmaeplay itself is incredibly simple, and works by bringing intuitive game control in with some great beats to keep you playing the best DSi game for adults and children alike!

Rhythm Heaven will lead you through hundreds of different simplistic scenarios in this DSi game where you will need to flick and tap your stylus to control your character, or character's movements to score points and complete levels. 

Getting used to the controls in this great DSi game takes minutes to learn, but much longer to perfect.  The key to beating this DSi game is to simply let your body flow to the beat.

There are few DSi games that can be compared to this great original DSi game. It has a simple play style, but is one of the few DSi games to occupy the ' play to the music' niche. 

Rhythm Heaven is one of those Nintendo DSi games which all DSi owners must own. While all the other DSi games have a lifespan of entertainment, Rhythm Heaven will give you unlimited DSi games entertainment!

Scribblenauts DSi Game

Scribblenauts is one of the most fun DSi games which you will find for both children and adults alike. In the DSi game Scribblenauts you have to work your way across several 2D levels by writing the names of various tools you could use to traverse obsticals, from ladders to a helicopter.


While you might begin to think a helicopter would be an ideal solution to the problem, it would also give you a real poor score.  To mix things up a little you should use a number of objects to find the most ingenious way to complete the level in this stunningly clever DSi game.  This is easily one of the best DSi games for it's truely original and unique. Scribblenauts provides fun and entertainment nicely packaged in one of the best Nintendo DSi Games of all time!

If you are looking for a challenging Children's DSi Game then Scribblenauts could be for you!

Scribblenauts is not just for children though, it is a challenging DSi game for adults as well, as you will constantly find yourself trying to beat your own score with more and more ingenious clever designs with more and more random objects in this brilliant DSi game!

Mario Kart DS - DSi Games

Mario Kart DS is easily one of the most fun DSi games you will ever find for solo play, or multiplayer DSi Games.  As with most of the Nintendo DSi Games based around Mario, you will find yourself encountering a wide range of characters which you can use to destroy, beat, and humiliate your friends.

Mario Kart has two main game modes, the first, racing, is pretty self explanatory. The second game mode in Mario Kart DS is however a royal rumble style shoot out, where you and your team battle too destroy your opponents!

I am more a fan of the racing mode in one of the best DSi games I have ever played.  It contains varying weapons and powerups which you can use to speed past your opponents, or knock them off the track!

Mario Kart is one of the most fun DSi games you can find for the DSi, but it also especially suits the Nintendo DSi XL, where the larger screen becomes extremely helpful.
Mario Kart DS is one of the best Nintendo DSi Games for any gamer looking for some simple racing fun.  For those looking for realistic racing DSi games however, the cartoon style and arcade handling on Mario Kart will probably not suit you to well.

Mario Kart is one of the few action DSi games which I would recommend as benefiting as a DSi XL game, where the larger DSi XL screen  helps a huge amount during races. 

Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box

Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box brings a fantastically well made puzzle DSi Game to the Nintendo DSi. Following an intricate storyline with over 150 puzzles you will find yourself entertained for days as you work your way through the third Professor Layton DSi game.

One of the great things about Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box is that it is one of the few DSi games to provide weekly updated content. Every single week you will find a new downloadable puzzle, helping to keep the game fresh and interesting.

The Professor Layton DSi games series brings together a great mix of challenging puzzles, while still providing a decent amount of hints when you start to get really stuck.

This is by far one of the best DSi games to focus on the puzzle genre which you can buy today, especially with it's mysterious story lines and intriguing conundrums!

The game allows great play for both adults and children alike with it's intuitive help system, which stops the puzzles becoming a huge annoyance when you simply cannot figure out the answer. 

About the Best DSi Games

Here on the Best DSi Games I plan to show you which DSi games really are the best, and even which are the worst. There are literally hundreds of great Nintendo DSi games available on the market, but which DSi games should you buy, and which DSi Games should you avoid?


Over the course of this blog I will be talking about the best DSi Games for the Nintendo DSi, and the Nintendo DSi XL. Out of all the Nintendo DSi games I have enjoyed the most I have to admit both the New Super Mario Bros and Pokemon Platinum have a dear place in my heart, since both these amazing DSi Games have given me hundreds of hours of intense fun filled game time!

Whether you are the new owner of a DSi XL, or an old owner of the original Nintendo DSi, you will hopefully find some brilliant Nintendo DSi games to keep you entertained, whichever DSi game genre you love to play.

Pokemon Platinum DSi Game

Pokemon Platinum has long been one of my best DS Games, it has one of the strongest RPG followings in the world, and with it's satisfying yet addictive gameplay, it is easy to see why. First off, the Pokemon Platinum DS game is virtually identical to the Pokemon Pearl and Pokemon Diamond DS games in nearly every respect. This might leave you asking why this is one of the best DSi games in the world.

The first thing you will notice in Pokemon Platinum is quite simply the new level of interactivity, with a Pokemon worldwide service that allows you to battle Pokemon players the world over, or trade with a friend no matter where they are, simply by hooking your Nintendo DSi up to your wireless router.

One of the real gems of an update in Pokemon Platinum is the battle frontier, a weird world with some ingenious callenges to keep the game interesting, even when you have finished the main story of one of the top DSi games!

While Pokemon Platinum is almost identical to it's predecessors Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl, it has had a few minor story tweaks and game extensions to keep things interesting for those of you have completed the previous DSi games.

While some people may be put off by this DSi games lack of story innovation, most Pokemon fans have invested in this upgrade to one of the most enjoyable Nintendo DSi game brands!

New Super Mario Bros

The Super Mario Games series has entertained gamers around the globe for over two decades, and the New Super Mario Bros DSi game is no exception to the most excellent of game quality trends. New Super Mario Bros DS is a high quality 2D platform DSi game which uses immersive pick up and play gameplay, along with addictive levels and fun cartoon graphics.

With these excellent, and increasingly rare qualities behind it, the New Super Mario Bros DSi game is unsurprisingly often voted the worlds best DSi game, and that is against stiff competition from other DSi games such as Pokemon and Zelda!

While the New Super Mario Bros DS is in my opinion one of the best DSi games ever made, others find that the lack of originality in terms of storyline (Rescue the kidnapped princess from the same bad guy time after time) is a bit of a letdowns, especially considering the rather complex story lines in other Nintedo DSi Games.

But let us get in to some of the more detailed aspects of one of the best DSi Games of all time. New Super Mario Bros brings new levels, techniques and abilities in to the world of Super Mario Bros, and with it comes a really fun multiplayer mode.  As with previous Mario games, New Super Mario Bros DS uses coins to keep the score, and completing levels in faster times is always worth the effort.

Old school Super Mario players will be pleased that the DSi game incantation of New Super Mario Bros holds true to the basic Super Mario Brothers spirit. Unlike a few other DSi games which have tried to push the box, New Super Mario Bros keeps to a 2D platform layout, with simple controls, simple scoring, and simple gameplay.  Despite this DSi games simplicity, do not be fooled in to thinking it is unskilled, or easy. New Super mario bros DS requires patience, determination, and skill if you want to succeed!
